Yoga Therapy for the Psoas with Amir

Dates: Saturday, May 11, 2024
Location: Arlington
Online  In-Person

The psoas is arguably the most influential skeletal and postural muscle of the body. It links the spine, diaphragm, and legs, acting as a messenger between the inner self and the outer world. While the psoas muscle is extraordinarily sensitive and responsive, we often find it difficult to feel or locate it within the body, and often it is the culprit for chronic hip pain, back pain, and digestive issues. Amir's workshop can help you learn how to maintain proper flexibility and functionality of the psoas, and create a psoas maintenance routine. Suitable for all people - no yoga experience necessary.

Gentle Movements of Five Element Qigong with Cynthia Maltenfort

Dates: Sunday, May 19, 2024
Location: Online
Online

Learn about Traditional Chinese Medicine's Five Element Theory, and practice corresponding gentle movements to bring balance and harmony into our complex lives. In this theory, we find mutual growth and mutual inhibition: metal, wood, water, fire, and earth keep each other in check, and help us maintain a balance of forces. The workshop will include a short lecture on the five elements followed by gentle movement, including the "five animal frolics," breath work, and meditation. All movements will be accessible, and can even be done sitting in a chair. No previous Qigong experience necessary.  2pm - 4pm ET.
