A well-rounded practice that Includes the basics as well as options for more challenging modifications. Appropriate for any student with any amount of yoga experience.

Jennifer Eubank

Jennifer discovered yoga at art school in the early 1980s and practiced at times for a few years. Life got in the way, what with a career, a daughter, and starting her own jewelry line, and her practice was sporadic. Fast forward to 2011 when she began to serve as a Work Exchanger at Sun & Moon and quickly realized that yoga was The Thing! Shortly thereafter she joined the studio’s teacher training program and earned her 200-hr certificate, followed a few years later with the 500-hr advanced certificate through the studio's Dharma Program.

Jennifer teaches regular weekly classes at Sun & Moon and can also be found subbing in other classes as well. She focuses on anatomy and alignment, weaving in ancient Yogic wisdom and philosophy, and enjoys adapting these ideas to each yoga audience in recognition that Yoga goes far beyond the mat no matter where people are in their lives. Jennifer loves to teach methods and techniques to help people shine through whatever challenges come their way, whether it be navigating school, life, bringing new life into the world or coping with big life changes. Yoga and Jennifer are here to help.

Suzanne Romness

Suzanne began practicing yoga in 2003 when she decided, as a runner for over 30 years, that she needed to slow down and find some balance in her life.  She credits the teachers at Sun & Moon Yoga Studio in helping her find that balance both on and off the yoga mat.  To enhance her yoga practice she decided to become a yoga teacher. She received her certification through Sun & Moon's In-Depth program in 2014 and is a student in the Dharma Program 300 hour advanced teacher training at the studio.

In addition to yoga in the hatha and vinyasa styles, Suzanne teaches teens, kids yoga and soccer, and is a preschool teacher and a certified personal trainer.  She likes to remind her students to listen to their breath and let it be the guide in their practice and life.

Enid Kassner

Enid is Sun & Moon certified. Her teaching style promotes a sensitive exploration of the inner experience of yoga in a light-hearted encouraging environment in which students can progress at their own pace.

Andrea Kiss

Andrea believes that beauty and harmony can be found in any movement, and she aims to create an atmosphere where students feel compassionate, safe, and welcome. She explores a wide range of yoga methods to help students open themselves up to a place where they can welcome back lost parts of themselves, to be with their stories – no matter how difficult – and to have the somatic experience in the body that allow them to get fully present.

Andrea has been teaching yoga since 2003. She taught at Sun & Moon for five years before moving back to Hungary in 2008, and after seven years in her homeland, she returned to the U.S. with her family in 2015. Andrea received her teacher certification from Sun & Moon, and is also certified in Yoga Trance Dance and Children's Yoga. She was fortunate to train with excellent teachers in the U.S. and Europe. As a former dancer, Andrea builds on her love of rhythm and harmony and incorporates into her practice various elements of different styles of yoga she studied throughout the years. She is currently studying Compassionate Inquiry Therapy with Dr. Gabor Mate and Sat Dharam Kaur.

Heidi Panetta

Heidi did her teacher training at Sun & Moon. Heidi believes yoga is both fun and transformative, when we take the chance to stretch our bodies and our minds. She enjoys sharing her love of yoga with her students, especially beginners.

Pat Pao

Patricia Pao (E-RTY 200) has been teaching yoga for over 12 years and currently teaches at Sun & Moon Yoga and Health Advantage Yoga. She completed The Health Advantage Yoga Center teacher training program, The Radiant Child TT Program, Yoga 4 Teens & Yin Yoga Teacher Training programs. She is also a Relax and Renew Trainer®. Pat is a former professional dancer, ballet teacher and movie casting director. She has had the great privilege of studying with many wonderful yoga teachers and enjoys bringing their numerous gifts to her classes and workshops.

Nathalie Cadilhac-Duffy

Nathalie began practicing yoga in 2003 as a way to reduce stress in her life. It quickly became a regular activity after noticing its calming yet energizing benefits and its holistic approach to life. After teaching French for 15 years, her strong interest in the many facets of yoga brought her to become a yoga instructor. Nathalie completed her 200-hour training in 2016 and her 300-hour training in 2020 both at Sun & Moon and is now a Yoga Alliance 500-hour registered teacher.  She teaches a hatha style yoga, encouraging the students to develop their practice with strength and ease and to stay engaged and curious in their yogic path.  She encourages students to listen to their own body and offers modifications as needed, taking the time to transition from one movement to the next while staying connected to the breath.

Gayle Fleming

Gayle began practicing yoga in 1976. She is passionate in her belief that yoga is for every body, that the breath is as important as the pose, and that authentic yoga is a gift to the world that she is called upon to share. She blends various styles and techniques of asana to fit the class and the student. She received her 200-hour certificate at Sun & Moon, her 500-hour at Willow Street Yoga and her Yoga Therapy training with Integrative Yoga Therapy.

She is passionate about sharing these same benefits with her students, and takes much joy in seeing her students grow - in all aspects of their being - through their practice. Catha has practiced yoga since 2003 and has been teaching since 2011. She is a Yoga Alliance E-500 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher and Certified Continuing Education Provider.

Amir Tahami

Amir stands at the helm as the most senior and followed teacher at, as well as the owner of, the nationally renowned Sun & Moon Yoga Studios in Northern Virginia. In his packed weekly public classes and private one-on-one yoga therapy sessions, he works attentively with students who want an enhanced quality of life through a plainspoken and sensible approach to health and well-being. His innovative techniques blending traditional Indian and Thai yoga influences with restorative postures, therapeutic applications, and somatic movement help students move gently forward on a path of healing, and encourages taking the mindfulness of yoga practice into everyday life. He has thousands of hours of training with teachers including Aadil Palkhivala, Tias Little, Rodney Yee, Doug Keller, and Leslie Kaminoff, and is also certified in Thai Yoga Therapy. Amir is an avid amateur hockey player, recently fulfilled a lifelong dream to design and build his own custom home, and is also known to herd cats.

Amir provides abundant and detailed instructions for how to move and takes his classes and workshops through the paces to practice alignment, energy movement, and clarity of mind. “Paying attention to the body is the hardest part,” he says. But when he’s dictating just exactly what to do with your shoulder blades – like leading with the blades in cat and cow, as opposed to the spine, as you might have always thought, or how to create space between each vertebra or what to do to stretch your connective tissue – the mind becomes laser-focused. He offers wisdom on anatomy and how to bring the lessons of healing into daily life – for knees, neck, back, shoulders, hips, and other parts that have been beaten down from work, injury, disease, aging, or disuse. He gives you the tools to practice these maneuvers at home and then wants you to go out there and live: play sports, climb mountains, expand your reach with a body that can.

Anne Jablonski

Anne teaches a playful, openhearted style of Freedom Yoga, blending what's most appropriate in the moment based on what she's tinkering with in her own practice and who shows up for class. She guides students to trust their intuition and encourages persistent, gentle curiosity to keep the practice fresh and compelling. Anne nudges students toward a creative and alignment-savvy asana practice that erases tight spots and stills the mind's chatter.

Anne’s teaching draws on inspiration from her own practice and her most influential teachers, including: Erich Schiffmann, every fine poet, her cheeky teacher within, and a magical place in Montana called the Feathered Pipe Ranch. She is E-RYT 500-hour Yoga Alliance registered through Sun & Moon. She is also continuing student training in the Trager Approach® to body movement education.

Marjorie Ames

Marjorie Ames began practicing yoga while working on Capitol Hill in 1989. A career diplomat, she’s brought her yoga practice with her and benefitted from the experience of many extraordinary teachers during her assignments abroad. Yet her true yoga home is at Sun & Moon Yoga Studio, where she has found a supportive and welcoming community of inspiring teachers and fellow students. Marjorie participated in Sun & Moon’s 2016-17 Foundations In-Depth Teacher Training Program and received her 200-hour certification in 2019. She is currently completing Sun and Moon's 300-hour Dharma program. She is an accredited teacher of Yoga For Healthy Aging, having completed the training in that specialization offered by Baxter Bell, MD, 500-ERYT and Melina Meza, B.S.N., 500-ERYT in August 2020. Marjorie is also a student and practitioner of Reiki, and received her Second Degree certification in the Usui System of Natural Healing (Usui Shiki Ryoho) in November 2017. Her teaching is informed by an interest in the interplay between movement, breath, and the energetic level of experience. She believes passionately that yoga is for every body and encourages students to listen to their own wisdom, and focus – in yoga and in life – on experiencing what is happening as it is happening.

Rachel Waldstein

After many years as a dancer and community theatre performer, injuries (and motherhood) forced Rachel to hang up her dancing shoes.  Inspired by a news article about people who ditched their desk jobs to take up healthy lifestyle careers, Rachel enrolled in a teacher training program at the Sun and Moon Yoga Studio in Arlington and Fairfax, Virginia.  Two years later, she realized a long-term goal of working part time at her office and teaching yoga.

With the growing amount of research showing how bad desk jobs and stress are for the body, Rachel believes we must change our work culture to accommodate our physical and emotional needs.

Rachel believes that yoga is great at any age, but especially as we get older yoga can help lessen the effects of injuries and chronic conditions. Yoga increases our flexibility, agility, strength, and balance. It teaches us to take a step back from our hectic lives to clear our minds and lower our stress, which in turn allows us to engage in our daily lives with more vigor and inspiration.

Rachel enjoys working with adults, who bring awareness and commitment to the practice, and also loves teaching kids, who approach yoga with energy and creativity

Christine Clardy

Christine’s classes emphasize healthy, individualized physical alignment and breath awareness, as well as finding balance between effort and ease. Throughout the practice, personal inquiry and internal listening remain key. Yoga becomes an ongoing cultivation of “skill in action” as it helps unify the body, mind and heart. Classes for families, kids or teens also explore classic asana and yoga wisdom, adding age-appropriate games, teamwork exercises, and relaxation to the experience. In addition to having taught middle and high school English, group yoga in a school setting, and mindfulness workshops for kids ages 5-8, Chris is trained in Love Your Brain Yoga, Move with Me Yoga Adventures, and most recently as Family Peer Recovery Specialist through the Richmond Behavioral Health Authority. She is certified with the Veterans’ Yoga Project. Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield’s The Power of Awareness informs her teaching of meditation, as does her 2022 course certification through Gary Kraftsow's Meditation Unlocked. She has an M.A. in American Literature and an M.A. in Religious Studies and became a RYT200 through Sun and Moon in 2018. Chris came to yoga in 1995 as a young and busy professional, having no interest in its traditions or techniques. She simply liked feeling relaxed! Over time, however, yoga has become different things, seemingly able to morph into whatever she needs whenever she needs it. Today, she still likes feeling relaxed—but also eagerly explores the vast system of traditions and techniques that she once overlooked.
