The Story of Meditation

Join Annie Moyer in this exploration of the history, philosophy, and techniques of meditation. In this six-week course, we will start at the time of the historical figure known as the Buddha, and trace the experience and influence of his own and other beloved awakened beings all the way into the present day. Each class will include sitting practice, short lectures and discussion, inspiring teaching tales, and a wide sampling of meditation techniques that weave together ancient insights and modern understandings.

Appropriate for beginners!

This series will take place in-person in the Fairfax Studio and on Zoom starting February 15 through March 21, 7:30p - 9:00p.

Feb 22: Finding Ground - Four Foundations of Mindfulness
Feb 29: Filling With Presence - Analytical Meditation
March 7: Cultivating Compassion - The Way of the Bodhisattva
March 14: Taking and Sending with Mind Training - Lojong
March 21: Charting Immeasurability - The Divine Abodes

This class is open to all students, and is also required for In-Depth Teacher Training students.
