This workshop will take place in the Fairfax Studio and on Zoom. Attend live, and/or access the recording for one month following. 


Join Baxter Bell, MD as he returns to Sun & Moon to share practices and insights to cultivate power and stability in the body and mind for our changing times. Sessions will focus on building strength, stamina and stability from the ground up, as well as the balancing effects of quiet poses and meditation on overall well-being and health.

The Fortitude of Feet: Power and Stability Where We Meet the Ground

To kick off the weekend (pun intended), our session will start where we connect to the earth – our fantastic feet. Focus on ways to both mobilize the many joints of the feet and ankles and strengthen the foot to get us hopping ready for the months to come.

Pleased with Power of Your Knees

This quite literal hinge joint of the knee is the mid-point of powerful legs. This session will address yoga poses and practices to increase power and strength, while maintaining healthy joint mobility to keep you jumping up and down for joy all year long. Special focus on calves and hamstrings. 


Saturday 4:00p - 6:00p

The Power of Quiet

Baxter will share his recent experience with unwanted changes in health and the power of yoga’s quieter practices to restore health and balance. Along the way, we will look at the numerous myths of aging that persist in our culture today and touch on the ground breaking work of Becca Levy, PhD, author of Breaking the Aging Code. Discussion and yoga practice. 


Sunday, 1:30p - 3:30p

Yoga 3.0: Powering the Body for a New Era

This session will explore the evolution of yoga, from Yoga 1.0, the ancient practices, to Yoga 2.0, when modern yoga comes to America, to Yoga 3.0, when yoga and science merge to a new form of yoga. In addition, Baxter will briefly highlight the importance of protein in our diets to power us into the coming months.  Discussion and practice.

Baxter Bell, MD, C-IAYT, YACEP, has been immersed in the practices of yoga for almost 30 years, teaching for over 25 of those years to thousands of students in the US and beyond. Baxter is a pioneer in the area of Yoga for Healthy Aging, co-authoring a book of the same name and leading workshops and immersions on this evolving topic online and in person.
