$45.00 Hatha Yoga for Pairs with Andrea Kiss and Steve Etkin (per pair)

Hatha yoga focuses on poses and breathing at a slow and deliberate pace, which provides more opportunity for alignment. Combine that with another person and you have Hatha for Pairs! Join our carefully curated series of yoga poses for pairs starting with simple beginner poses moving to slightly more challenging poses. Our two-person poses promote balance, strength and flexibility. Most of all, we breath, let go and have fun! Bring a friend, family member, or partner. Optional pictures can be taken of your favorite poses towards the end of class.

Andrea Kiss

Andrea believes that beauty and harmony can be found in any movement, and she aims to create an atmosphere where students feel compassionate, safe, and welcome. She explores a wide range of yoga methods to help students open themselves up to a place where they can welcome back lost parts of themselves, to be with their stories – no matter how difficult – and to have the somatic experience in the body that allow them to get fully present.

Andrea has been teaching yoga since 2003. She taught at Sun & Moon for five years before moving back to Hungary in 2008, and after seven years in her homeland, she returned to the U.S. with her family in 2015. Andrea received her teacher certification from Sun & Moon, and is also certified in Yoga Trance Dance and Children's Yoga. She was fortunate to train with excellent teachers in the U.S. and Europe. As a former dancer, Andrea builds on her love of rhythm and harmony and incorporates into her practice various elements of different styles of yoga she studied throughout the years. She is currently studying Compassionate Inquiry Therapy with Dr. Gabor Mate and Sat Dharam Kaur.

Steven Etkin

Steve’s journey to teaching started with injuries from sprinting while working as a senior-level soccer referee. The injuries had as much to do with ego as with an aging body. He planned to practice yoga to extend his referee life. Over time, he started spending less time on the pitch and more time in the studio, eventually stopping refereeing entirely and devoting the added time to his practice.

His yoga practice has helped him overcome the ego thing, while improving his strength, flexibility and balance. He is RTY200 certified and registered with the Yoga Alliance, and teaches Hatha and Vinyasa yoga from rookie to advanced levels. In addition, he is a qualified TRX teacher, and offers a fusion of Vinyasa and TRX, a suspension training system using body weight and gravity for resistance.

Steve enjoys the yoga studio community and receives energy from practicing with others. He hopes to impart to others the benefits he has gained from his practice, especially to those folks who think they cannot “do yoga.” He strives to make his classes fun and inspirational.

While not practicing or teaching in the studio, Steve follows his other passion as an avid pickleball player. He enjoys the camaraderie and social aspects of his pickleball community, focusing more on the fun of the game rather than the competition.
