Attachment and aversion are two of the five kleshas or “afflictions” of the mind that cause suffering, as described in the Yoga Sutras. We are attached to pleasant things in life, often worrying about losing them, and we fear and dislike what’s unpleasant. In this workshop we’ll practice emotional resilience by learning to welcome opposites of sensation and emotions with a sense of equanimity, while staying grounded and embodied. Our exploration will be based on the Yoga Sutras and on the teachings of iRest, a modern adaptation of Yoga Nidra: a guided deep relaxation practice.

Explore these ideas through various avenues: during the two hours, you'll experience an accessible movement practice, a philosophical explanation and discussion, and guided meditation and yoga nidra.
