Incorporates yoga, Mat Pilates, and small weights to improve strength, flexibility, and balance. Small, three-pound weights are used to practice series of small controlled movements for toning and strengthening the full body.
Kathy Low
Kathy Low is an experienced yoga teacher and yoga therapist with over 500 hours of advanced, certified teacher trainings and over 15 years' experience teaching and practicing in the NOVA area. Kathy teaches private and group sessions that are suited to each individual, as she incorporates myofascial release to improve functional movement and mobility. Kathy draws on her deep understanding of anatomy, and the function of body, bones, and muscles to help students improve strength, stretch, and balance.
Kathy continues to study, learn and grow in her daily practice and believes yoga balances the best of strengthening, stretch and meditation in movement. She teaches to all levels and focuses on breath-based practices with a strong foundation on alignment. Kathy finds breath-based practices give many benefits, foremost calming the mind. Kathy emphasizes safety built on a strong knowledge of anatomy, and the function of body, bones, and muscles. She likes to challenge students to grow in their own practice, have fun, and realize the many benefits of yoga including strength, flexibility, and focus.
