"Core" strength is not about crunching the belly! This class focuses on integrating, balancing, stabilizing, and strengthening the many muscles of the front, back and sides of the torso. This work can lead to improved posture, diminished pain, and better functional movement. Each class includes time to warm-up, a period of active work, and a satisfying relaxation. Appropriate for all levels.

Jen Ebbert

Jen is a lifelong student, anatomy nerd and puzzle solver.  Her yoga journey began over 20 years ago as she searched for ways to manage debilitating chronic pain and advocate for her own health.  She joined Sun & Moon Yoga Studio in 2000 and instantly felt at home with the community and the practice. In 2014 she began her yoga teacher training and has since completed her 200hr and 300hr advanced teacher training as well as a 100hr Trauma Sensitive Yoga certification and extensive coursework in Yoga for Healthcare through YogaFit.  She enjoys teaching in a vinyasa flow style, pairing movement with breath, and with over a thousand hours of teaching experience, her practice continues to evolve - focusing more on functional range of motion while building strength and stability.  As a licensed massage therapist and a curious soul, Jen draws from many therapeutic disciplines and works to integrate their wisdom.  Her goal is for all of us to remain active, able and at peace within our bodies as we age.

Anna Mikheeva

Anna has been practicing Yoga for eighteen years and holds a 700-hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Certification from Surya Chandra Healing Yoga School, a Yoga Therapy school in the Krishnamacharya tradition. Anna also has a Pilates Mat certification. As a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists and a Yoga Alliance Registered teacher at the 500 level, her goal is to help her students discover the joy of every movement and breath.

Roger Panetta

I became a yoga teacher because I wanted to do my part to continue a lineage that has existed for thousands of years. As a short term caretaker of the lineage I want students to find their unique path, their inner truth and their authentic practice. I have been heavily influenced by the teachings of the Indian philosopher Jiddu Krishnamurti that truth is a pathless land and search for truth frees us from our self-limiting beliefs. My classes combine the four elements of breath, alignment, focus, and core in a flowing state. I liken it to listening to a symphony and hearing, feeling and experiencing the notes and the quiet between the notes. Every move, counter move and no move on the yoga mat is a product of a student's "wu wei" (effortless action). Combining the present moment with an embrace of discipline, strength, flexibility and endurance, the practice becomes a powerful tool to authentically confront the joys, sorrows, obstacles and triumphs of life.

When I'm not teaching yoga, I'm living it by spending precious time with my family, convening with the wonders of nature, and running my job performance consulting business, Nimble at Work.
