Build community with us as we help Arlington Thrive celebrate its 50th anniversary by foregrounding resilience, mental health, and self-care. Flow and Yin with Tara is a candlelight experience that invites you to balance the active and the receptive. In the "flow" portion, shake off your day with inspired movement, and then in the "yin" portion, unravel deep layers of tension in your connective tissue.

This event is a free will offering. If you are so inclined, please make a donation directly to Arlington Thrive.

Arlington Thrive is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive, holistic support to families in need of financial, early childhood, workforce development, and personalized services to foster long-term self-sufficiency. What began as a small, grassroots initiative has grown into a cornerstone of support and hope for countless individuals and families.

Tara Bishop

Tara began her Yoga journey with a 12 week intro to Yoga Class that was a gift from her husband, John, after they had their son John Robert, in 1996. In 2014 Tara came across an introduction to Meditation weekend at the Chopra Center in Carlsbad, CA, while she was in the area for work. After an amazing weekend learning how to mediate, the signs came out on Sunday morning to consider becoming a teacher as a way to deepen your practice, and her joyful path began to unfold. Over the next four years she became a teacher in Mediation, Yoga and Ayurveda at the Chopra Center, and in 2016 began a community class in DC.  Tara also teaches for the nonprofit where she serves as Deputy Chief Executive. She loves sharing the teachings and experiences of Yoga to all of the communities she serves.

Tara’s classes are grounded in the Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga and the union of body, mind and spirt.  The breath is the bridge between the mind and the body and together we will come back to our natural state of balance. Tara is part of the 2022 – 2024 300 Hour Dharma Program at Sun & Moon and is grateful to be a part of this community. Tara looks forward to seeing you in class!
